About Tara Joy

Tara Joy’s goal is to use artwork to inspire people to pause and think about their world differently, even if just for a moment. Tara Joy’s passion for art is rooted in a deep love for visual communication. She is fascinated with how people share their stories, experiences, and observations through creative mediums. Tara Joy uses abstract forms and colour that reference human form and nature to explore topics including social equity, mental health, family, and the embodied human experience. She continues to discover her identity as an artist through her work and does not restrict herself to one medium, experimenting with ink, acrylic paint, marker, and pastel.

Tara Joy studied art at Redeemer University in Hamilton, Ontario. She lives and works in Toronto. She has a passion for art history and has traveled extensively with a purpose of discovering art around the world. Tara Joy’s artwork has appeared in shows and exhibitions in Toronto, Hamilton, and Woodbridge Ontario.
